Glass in Modern Architecture of the Bauhaus Period

Glass in Modern Architecture of the Bauhaus Period

Arthur Korn

Originally published in German under the title Glas im Bau und als Gebrauchsgegenstand in 1926. First time published in English. One of the most important records of the glass era of the Modern Movement, it draws on examples of the New Architecture from all over Europe (together with other examples ranging from laboratory equipment light bulbs to a table by Marcel Breuer and a ballet decor by Naum Gabo, for Diaghilev). The book remains one of the best visual records of the buildings of the so-called heroic period available in one volume. In this new edition, all the original illustrations are reproduced and the captions have been translated and amplified to include dates, etc.

Very good tight and clean copy. Owner's name obliterated on inside front cover or fly Book itself is excellent. Dust jacket lightly scuffed with one small tear which has been repaired with scotch tape.
