Good Housekeeping's Book of Menus, Recipes, and Household Discoveries Good housekeeping Early edition of a small and charming cookbook with recipes like coffee souffl pie, cranberry conserve, left-over poor man's pudding, Baltimore chow-chow and many other hard-to-find recipes. Most appealing section on "household discoveries" which apparently were contributed by good housekeeping readers. Here's a sweet example: "How the children love my edible Red Riding Hoods, because they are something different! For each Red Riding Hood a marshmallow, a toothpick, a small bar of chocolate, and a red tissue paper are necessary. Use the toothpick to paint a face on the marshmallow with melted chocolate. Then stick it into the marshmallow for a neck and through the chocolate bar for the body. Now make a little red dress and Cape and stand a Red Riding Hood at each child's place!" Overall good condition with the following flaws: pages are browning with age, a few small marks of soil, cover has a few small gouges and stains.
