Nomadic Furniture (1): How to Build and Where to Buy Lightweight Furniture that Folds, Inflates, Knocks Down, Stacks, or is Disposable and Can Be Recycled

James Hennessy

1st in a series of two books. Despite the homey format of this book, it has simple designs and directions for extremely easy to make furniture and some very innovative ideas. Includes directions for how to make a "sack" or bean bag chair, info on an early Gehry chair, a Styrofoam cup lamp, simple bookcases from one piece of plywood etc... We were impressed with the "friction clamp" idea developed by a graduate student in engineering at Berkeley. Click on second photo to read more.
