Oversize and classic work by James C. Rose, pioneer in modern landscape design. Rose was one of a small group responsible for the modernist revolution in landscape design and planning. "This is definitely not a how-to-do-it book, but it might well be considered a "how-to-think-it" book." Of particular interest is his chapter on the development of a modular garden system. A scarce and priceless resource showing the garden as a space sculpture, integral to the experience of the modernist house. Controversial when written, now an artistic and cultural treasure. One of our all time favorites. Really great landscape renderings.

Book itself is in good plus condition. Cover a bit faded and scuffed. Interior spine a little loose. DJ a bit ratty.
